Sheryl has been practicing law since 1979, primarily as a sole practitioner.

Sheryl grew up in Monroe, Georgia and graduated from Monroe Area High School. During high school, Sheryl was a member of the Monroe Girls Drum and Bugle Corps appearing in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on two occasions. Upon completing high school, Sheryl attended Georgia Southwestern College then completed her degree at the University of Georgia. Sheryl attended Atlanta Law School and worked with both Glenn Zell and Robert Herman during this time.

Sheryl was the First Woman admitted to practice law in Walton County, Georgia.

Sheryl joined the general practice Law firm of Ronnie K. Batchelor, currently a Superior Court Judge in Gwinnett County. There Sheryl handled a general practice which included criminal law, personal injury cases, worker’s compensation cases, subrogation, domestic cases, and other general areas of civil litigation. In addition, Sheryl assisted in the preparation of appellant briefs in death penalty cases. Upon leaving this firm, Sheryl joined a firm that specialized in collection and landlord/tenant cases.

Sheryl joined with Michael Shapiro, the former Executive Director of the Indigent Defense Council, to form the law firm of Fambrough and Shapiro, P.C. There she represented individuals and small corporations in the general practice of law. Michael Shapiro left the practice of law for a period of time and Sheryl formed the Law Offices of Sheryl Fambrough, representing individuals and small corporations in the general practice of law.
